Message from the President

We are officially in the Fall season. As we all look forward to some cooler weather and the holidays I would love to hear your thoughts on the age old debate within the IRWA of pumpkin spice: vote here. Results will be shared in next month’s newsletter.

There is a lot of fun to be had this time of year including Austin City Limits Music Festival, Formula 1 Racing, Oktoberfest activities, the Bloody Mary Fest and the Austin Margarita Festival to name a few. IRWA Chapter 74, as a professional organization has plenty of events coming up where you can network, learn and have fun with your colleagues. Our Chapter, in partnership with Chapter 39 in San Antonio, hosted the Eminent Domain Seminar in conjunction with the MAW Golf Tournament hosted by the Right of Way Professionals of Texas. Our estimates came back with great success. Over 300 attendees registered for the conference and 46 golfers participated in a fun day of golf. The tournament helped to raise over $15,000 benefiting Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central Texas and helps to help grant wishes to children with critical illnesses. I personally want to thank all those who volunteered their time and efforts to help with both the seminar and golf outing, contributing to another successful year. We also hosted our monthly luncheon at Maggiano’s last week with over 45 people in attendance and a great presentation from our guest speakers repre-senting Williamson County. Next month we will be at Maggiano’s again with another great guest speaker from the Alliance Regional Water Authority. Many thanks to our Programs Committee for putting these events together. December is just around the corner so don’t forget to make plans to attend our IRWA Holiday party. This is an opportunity for our members to come together and celebrate all the great things we have done this year.

If you have any additional input for me that would help our Chapter, please feel free to reach out, whether it is about Right of way activities or just pumpkin spice.
Welcome to the fall season and I hope to see you soon at our chapter events!
